Impersonating a rustic village, CGH Earth’s Spice Village has been conceptualised to mirror a tribal village, presenting the treasures and lifestyles from this spectacular high-region of Kerala. Located near the famous Periyar Tiger Reserve, the resort is an ideal base to explore the reserve and Kumily, the heartland of Kerala’s spices.
Spread across 14 acres, the 52 independent cottages are modelled on the dwellings of the native Manan tribe. The thatched cottages exude a sense of simplicity with just the right combination of select creature comforts. Devoid of artificial air-conditioners or television, the emphasis here is on natural materials, local handicrafts and fresh forest air. The restaurants serve regional and International cuisine with ingredients sourced within a 50-mile radius.

Spice Village champions the concept of sustainable eco-tourism. The resort utilizes solar energy for most of their power requirements and manages all waste in-house with a vermi compost. There is a vast menu of activities to choose from: guided spice walks and masterclass on Kerala cooking to paper making and eco-tourism programs and treks conducted by the Periyar Reserve.
